New York. August 11. Prominent Pakistani religious leader based in US, Rev. Patrick P. Augustine Rector, St. John's Episcopal Church, Famous in India and Pakistan for peace missions to end the Kashmir crisis from decades is leaving for Pakistan to p

The Christians leaders in Pakistan and abroad have heart heartedly welcomed the mission of Rev. Patrick Augustine when four Bishops of the Bishops Conferences of Pakistan are in US now a days and campaigning for the forthcoming elections in Pakistan after their bargains with Muslim religious political parties to nominate their selection of candidates on their party list on the reserved seats for Christians in parliament when Muslim elected members shall cast vote to elect on these reserved seats in joint election system after 18 years of practice of separate elections in Pakistan to elect the reserved seat candidates by the Christian voters. Its learned that The Bishop S K Dass, now a days in US is angry when Bishop Alexander defeated him to seek the support and promise of MQM chief Altaf Hussain to adopt the Bishop Alexander Christian nominee when Bishop S K Dass had believed the MQM seat is in his pocket after his speech in Karachi Nishter Park on Sindh Solidarity convention of MQM. Where as the Bishop Joseph Coots also in US now a days have informed the Catholic Pakistani community here that PPP is still in the hands of Catholic Church of Pakistan and Catholic nominees shall be on PPP list for the reserved seats. It's learned that these four Pakistani Bishops were collecting donations for the Muslim religious parties and political parties for the support in the elections in Pakistan. Its ironic fact that when Taxila and Murre incident were breaking news in west these bishops were silent to hold any conference to express the Christian concerns in Western countries. In this situation the peace mission of Rev. Augustine is very important. Its also learned that after the move of Rev. Augustine the visiting Bishop Mano Rumalshah, Secretary General of the USPG and Bishop Alexander Malik, Bishop of Lahore, Pakistan are ready to join Rev. Patrick to visit Islamabad and many more Bishops may join them in Pakistan to meet the president Mushraf. Rev Patrick said that. The situation for the Christian community in Pakistan is detracting. Rev. Patrick is leaving tomorrow morning to go to Islamabad Rev. Patrick Added that the last victims in Pakistan were Pakistani Christian nurses at Taxila Eye hospital. The ruins of the old city of Taxila were discovered in 1945 by a British archeologist. It is the same city mentioned in the pseudo gospel according to St. Thomas. St. Thomas came to this city and preached the Gospel and King Gonophores of Taxila and his people converted to Christian faith. Now in this modern city of Taxila Christian Eye Hospital does a tremendous ministry of healing. Ninety five percent of the patients treated are Muslims. Most of the patients get free treatment. The Christian leaders of Pakistani community in US have appealed the Rev. Patrick to concentrate on the situation of Christian victims during meeting with President Mushraf when the leaders of Bishop Conference of Pakistan in his delegation shall make this meeting for their political interests as they have ruined Christian community future in Pakistan to demand the joint election system in their previous meetings with the head of state of Pakistan to hold control on their congregations by the bargaining to impose their ;leaders on them with the help of Muslim political leaders.
