Toronto, Canada: February 3, 2012. (PCP) Mr. Qamar Khan, President Christian Cultural Association of South Asians, Strongly condemned the Press statement of Mr. Jahangir Badr,

who said, “He the party entrusted all matters pertaining the minorities with the All Pakistan Minorities Alliance APMA which had in the past played the most active role in interfaith harmony”. All Pakistan Minorities Alliance APMA was formed by Shahbaz Bhatti who was selected as MNA from PPP and later elevated to rank of federal minority minister in government of Pakistan. Shahbaz Bhatti was one who met General Parvez Musharraf with Catholic Bishops and demanded to abolish Separate Electorate and to impose Joint Electorate which empowers Muslim political parties to select non-Muslim representation in parliament. The All Pakistan Minorities Alliance APMA was formed after meeting of so-called Christian leaders with Parvez Musharraf in President House Islamabad and later blessed by Pakistan Peoples party PPP. Shahbaz Bhatti was martyred in 2011, in Islamabad and now his brother Paul Bhatti heads All Pakistan Minorities Alliance and selected as Advisor to Prime Minister of Pakistan on national harmony issues. Mr. Qamar said that by entrusting matters of Non-Muslim in the hands of bunch of selected Dummy representatives who came into power through undemocratic means, a conspiracy is made against the non- Muslim citizens of Pakistan to segregate and banish them from State’s helm of affairs. The statement negates the very first Constitutional speech of founding father Quaid-e-Azam, delivered on 11 August 1947. Pakistani Non- Muslims have always consider themselves as citizens of Pakistan, not religious minorities, a term imposed by majority to crush non- Muslims and to perpetuate the injustices, atrocities and discrimination that has torn the fabric of society. He urged the government of Pakistan and head of Pakistan People Party “PPP” to take prompt notice of Jahangir Badr’s statement and direct his party to abolish minority wing and bring true representatives of non-Muslims citizens in the main stream by appointing them in the high hierarchy of party ranks so they may have sense of belonging and become part of decision making process. He further added that the Pakistani government must ensure Representation of non-Muslims in all policy making institutions of the country including appropriate representation of “elected not selected” representatives of people in federal and provincial cabinets and Centeral Executive committee (CEC) of political parties to empower them democratically.
