Karachi: December 8, 2011. (PCP) Mr. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar, Member Provincial Assembly Sindh, Chairman, Standing Committee on Minorities Sindh Assembly

and President, All Pakistan Minorities Alliance Sindh has submitted his application on 08-12-2011 to the Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Government of Sindh, the Inspector General of Police Sindh, the Capital City Police Officer, Karachi and the Deputy Commissioner Karachi East to postpone the Public Meeting / Jalsa of Imran Khan, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf. In which he said that Mr. Imran Khan, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has publicly announced that he would hold Jalsa / Rally (Public Meeting) on Sunday, 25th December, 2011 at Mazaar-e-Quaid-e-Azam at Karachi. Christmas Prayer Services / Mass on 25th December are attended in the whole word by the Christians. Similarly, Christian Community of Pakistan would celebrate “Birthday of Jesus Christ” all the Christian families, their children would attend Christmas Prayer Services / Celebration which is a very solemn and important day for all who believe in Christian Faith. On the other hand it is a very important occasion that it is the birthday of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Founder of Pakistan and Father of Nation and on this occasion the people of Pakistan, particularly families and children visit Quaid-e-Azam Mazaar to pay homage to the Father of Nation and the eldest of the families educate their children about the struggle of Quaid-e-Azam for creation of Pakistan. It is pertinent to mention here that near and around the Quaid-e-Azam Mazaar there are several churches / worship places of different denominations like Roman Catholic Church, Church of Pakistan, Pentecostal Church, Salvation Army Church, A.R.P. Church, Baptist Church, Methodist Church, Anglican Church, Presbyterian Church, where thousands of Christian believers would go for Prayer Services / Mass on Christmas Day. The Chairman of Tehreek-e-Insaaf Imran Khan has chosen this special occasion of Christmas for his public meeting at Quaid-e-Azam Mazaar. Why Mr. Imran Khan had not chosen the day of Eid-ul-Azha and Eid-ul-Fitr for his public meetings? The public meeting on Christmas Day is tantamount to create difference / hatred between the Christian minorities and majority communities of Pakistan. This step of Mr. Imran Khan of P.T.I. would deprive the Christian Community in the Karachi City to attend Christmas Services on this special occasion. On the other hand, this meeting would also deprive the families and the children to visit Quaid-e-Azam Mazaar on Founder Father’s Birthday. He requested to the aforesaid offices to postpone the public meeting of P.T.I on these auspicious occasions and to make conducive atmosphere so as to enable the Christian believers to attend Churches and worship places and allied celebrations freely which is a fundamental right in accordance with the Constitution of Pakistan, 1973.
