No Civil Award for Shahbaz Bhatti Shaheed on Independence Day of Pakistan.
Islamabad: August 15, 2011. (PCP) President of Pakistan Mr. Asif Ali Zardari announced 185 civil awards for gallantry, Public Service, Arts, science and other walks of life to prominent Pakistani dignitaries but name
of former Federal Minister for Minorities Affair Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti was not included in this list announced by President House on August 14, 2011, on Independence Day of Pakistan.
The PPP government recognized sacrifice of Salman Taseer Shaheed, Governor of Punjab and leader of PPP and awarded him with Nishan-e-Imtiaz who was gunned down by his bodyguard in Islamabad on his campaign to release a Christian mother Asia Bibi arrested under blasphemy charges and sentenced to death by Session Courts of Nankana Sahib in Punjab province of Pakistan.
The awards were announced for PPP Chairman of Senate of Pakistan, PPP Secretary General, PPP governments Home Minister, PPP Governments Ambassador to USA, many key officials of PPP and relatives of President of Pakistan and Co-Chairperson of PPP Asif Ali Zardari but there was no name of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti, who served PPP and was Federal Minister in PPP government when gunned down by Tehreek Talaban Punjab TTP in Islamabad on March 2, 2011.
President Asif Ali Zardari awarded even Actress but forgot Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti who was assassinated on his public services in PPP regime.
Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC said that now we understand that why PPP government announced killing of Shahbaz Bhatti linked to family rivalry before Independence Day of Pakistan? Was PPP government was conspiring to undermine public services of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti?
“I urge All Pakistan Minority Alliance APMA leaders and PPP selected Christian members of Provincial assemblies to resign from PPP as a protest on not recognizing services of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti on Independence Day awards” said Nazir Bhatti
Nazir Bhatti said that I am critic of anti-Christian polices of Pakistan Peoples Party PPP and raised voice against Shahbaz Bhatti to warn him that he is working with such a political group which never recognized sacrifice of Mushtaq Masih who set himself on fire in Gujranwala as protest to hang ZA Bhutto during Zia-ul-Haq regime but PPP never paid homage to him.
