The Pope’s message, made public by the Vatican on May 5, was directed to the annual plenary meeting of the commission, which was dedication to a discussion of inspiration in the Bible. "An interpretation of Sacred Scripture that ignores or forgets its inspiration does not take into account its most important and valuable characteristic: its provenance from God,” the Pope said.
