Speaking on the issue of 'marriage' without 'wali' Dr Ghazi said: "I feel that 'marriage' without a 'wali' is a valid and legitimate marriage but it should preferably be held in the presence of 'wali'. Dr Ghazi supported the 'suicide attacks' saying: "I consider the 'suicide attacks' carried out by our brothers and sisters in Palestine to be absolutely in conformity with the 'Shariah'. They are sacrificing their lives for the sake of Palestine, for the freedom of the first Qibla. I don't consider any wrong in it according to Islam. It is allowed!" When Dr Ghazi was asked to comment on the issue of the blasphemy law in the light of Ibne Temia's book 'Asare Mal Maslool' - on the page 8 of which he had quoted Hazrat Imam Abu Hanifa as saying that death sentence could not be awarded to a non-Muslim if he/she blasphemed the Prophet, the minister said: "Yes, that is the view of Hazrat Imam Abu Hanifa. Hazrat Imam Abu Hanifa says that if a non-Muslim insults the prophet of Islam, then the death punishment should not be inflicted on him - yes! We should ensure that the law should not be 'misused' and 'exploited'." Anwar Kenneth Sentenced to death under blasphemy. LAHORE (PPI)-Additional District and Sessions Judge Sadaqat Ullah Khan Thursday awarded death sentence with a fine of Rs 5 lakh to ex-Deputy Director Fisheries Department Anwar Kennth (Christian) in a blasphemy case against him. At the time of announcing the judgements strict security measures were adopted and no one was allowed to come to the courtroom. After hearing the judgment, the accused stated that he would not go for appeal to the Lahore High Court against the decision. Some relatives of the accused were also present outside the courtroom and raised slogans " Jesus Christ live long". Anwar Kennth was born in 1952 and passed FSc from Maray College, Sialkot, and got BSc degree from Islamia College Civil Lines, Lahore. On the previous date of hearing, the accused had confessed his crime before the court with the wording that Jesus Christ had chosen him for preaching his message. The court had recorded the statements of two prosecution witnesses in the case including secretary "Ashat-e-Islam" Haji Mehmood Zafar who submitted that the accused had written him many letters containing blasphemy remarks. The witness also produced the said letters before the court. After recording the statement of Haji Mehmood Zafar, the court also recorded the statement of accused under section 342 CrPC in which, he pleaded guilty. Gawalmandi Police had registered a case against the accused under section 295-C on the complaint of Haji Zafar Mehmood.
