On Sunday 29 June 2002. (CLAAS UK. Report) kingri Masih awarded a death sentence and fined RS. 50,000. by the Additional District and Session Judge, Ch. Mohammad Rafiq, in Pakistan. He is an other victims of the Islamic shariah law that is being used

Kingri Masih, a former Christina embraced Islam but then rev=converted to Christianity that is considered " Apostasy". This hurt a feeling of local Muslim Mr. Rana Nisar Ahamad who is who is an official of sunni Tehreek. He filed a case against Kingri Masih for denial of Islam and making derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammad. As result he was charged under the blasphemy law section 295-C on 17 March 2000. This case shows the clear picture of the religious intolerance in the Pakistan Muslim society. This also shows that there is no religious freedom or freedom of expression for the religious Minorities, in particular the Christians in Pakistan. If a Christian is forced into conversion to Islam then it is regarded as " Sunnah" but if a Muslim embraces Christianity then he is considered a "Apostate" to Islam and prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and is found eligible to be killed. This double standard adopted by the Muslim society is a threat to the Christians Community and cannot be tolerated at any cost. The Christian community both in the UK and Pakistan are concerned for their future in Pakistan who has been deprived of their equal rights as citizens of Pakistan. CLAAS already dealing with number of cases like Ayub Maish, Saleem and Raheed Masih, Ranjha Maish, Pervez Masih and Aslam Masih who has been given double life imprisonment and Rs. 100,000 fine on 7 May 2002. CLAAS believe they are all innocent and paying a price to be a Christina in Pakistan. CLAAS protest against these false accusation and demand to repeal the blasphemy law further delay. Nasir Saeed Coordinator of CLAAS UK have issued a statement on updates on blasphemy cases, 1. Kingri Masih given death sentenced and fined Rs. 50,000. 2. Anwar Kenneth's court hearing adjourned until 8 July 02 3. Pervez Maish's Court haring is due on July 06 4. Murshid Maish's court hearing today 5. Aslam Maish's appeal has been submitted by CLAAS
