Philadelphia. June 10. (Correspondent). Mr. Rizwan Khan, President of CL and Mr. Anjum Bhatti, Secretary general of Christian League have announced that Christian League of Pakistan is proud to announce its Second Human Rights Conference in Philadelp

The Conference 2002 will focus on Restoration of democracy in Pakistan, Repealing of blasphemy law and Release of all Christian prisoners jailed under different discriminatory laws. The venue shall take place at Sat. 6 p.m. SEPT. 7, 2002 at Cardinal Dougherty School, 64 Ave. & 2nd. St.Philadelphia and on Tue. SEPT 10, 2002 at Capital Hill, Washington, D.C. Mr. Rizwan Khan said that several international delegates from Canada, Pakistan, Middle East, Europe and England attended last conference held in 1999. On expressing the introductory note he added that Christian League of Pakistan is a group of Christian Pakistani human rights activists in the United States of America and is known as a "pressure group". The League, in past, has arranged several conventions, processions, protest rallies and symposiums on human rights issues in Pakistan. Mr. Khan vowed that the Conference 2002 would provide an opportunity for all Christian Pakistanis living abroad to meet at a one place and find ways to stop the ongoing persecution of Christians in Pakistan. He confirmed that prominent U.S. officials and human rights activists will also attend the conference and several human rights groups in the U.S.A endorse the conference.
