WASHINGTON DC: November 9, 2008. U.S. President elect Barack Obama called President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday and assured of his full support for democracy in the country. Obama, who this week achieved a historic victory in the U.S. election to become the first African American president, expressed the hope that the two countries would continue to work together to further expand their bilateral relationship.
