Manchester (PR) March 15, A forty-member delegation of Christian-Muslim Coordination Commission headed by Chairman Bishop Andrew Francis called on Chairman Pakistan Awami Tehreek Dr. Tahir ul Qadri at his party Secretariat in Lahore yesterday. The do

Addressing on this occasion, Bishop Andrew Francis stressed upon the Muslims and Christians to promote peace, tolerance and tranquillity in the light of the Holy Quran and the Holy Bible. Bishop Francis said that Dr. Tahir ul Qadri is the leader and torchbearer of a great mission of peace and tolerance. Recognizing the same exemplary character of the Dr. Qadri, the great spiritual leader of Christian Community Pope John Paul II had invited the PAT Chief as special guest to participate in the International Peace Prayer offering Ceremony at Vatican City, he added. Expressing his views on the occasion Father Nadeem said that for the first time in Pakistan's history, Christians have been open heartedly given an opportunity to offer prayers in a Mosque through which PAT and its leader Dr. Qadri have set an unprecedented example of religious tolerance. Dr. Qadri is undoubtedly the leader of both the Muslim as well as the Christian Community of Pakistan, he added. "May this joint journey prove a blessing for Pakistan," he prayed. The delegation strongly condemned the state-terrorism being perpetrated by India and Israel, and demanded the world community to exert pressure on both India and Israel to stop brutalities on the innocent Kashmiries and Palestinians. They also demanded the UNO to fulfill its obligation to implement the resolutions adopted in favor of Kashmir and Palestine to give their people the right to self-determination and independence. The PAT Chairman and the Chairman of Christian-Muslim Coordination Commission exchanged gifts of the Holy Quran and the Holy Bible. The Christian delegation also included Father Inyat Bernard, Father Saleem Anujm, Dr. Murqas Fida, Mr. Joseph Francis and Mr. Ijaz Yousaf. While PAT leaders Allama Ali Ghazanfar Kararvi, Mr. G.M Malik, Media Advisor Syed Abid Gillani, Mufti Abdul Qayyum Hazarvi, Professor Nawaz Zafar, Mr. Daud Durani, Mr. Sajid Bhati and Mr. Javad Hamid were present on the occasion.
