Dear Mr. Nazir Bhatti, Greetings of peace from ROC: Relief for Oppressed Community Pakistan ROC is a Christian organization registered in Lahore, Pakistan (www.rocpk.org). ROC works to uplift the vulnerable Christian community by providing them free and quality education, food & clothing and work for minority rights. I also own a Textile Trading House in Pakistan. I had to face life threats at the hands of my business rivals; those were not ready to see a Christian as a competitor and successful businessman. I as Chairman of the organization coordinated all the projects. I also write in Monthly Sawan, Lahore Pakistan against blasphemy Laws. These discriminatory laws have been targeting minorities in Pakistan. Recently, Gov. Salman Taseer and Shahbaz Bhatti Minister for Minority affairs were assassinated for advocacy against this discriminatory law. My bold advocacy brought threat to my life and I was tortured and tried to kidnap in Nov-2010. The unholy alliance of extremist forces and my business rivals has threatened my life and attacked to kill or kidnap me. I had a narrow escape, and managed to flee from Pakistan to save my life. But I continue my work for the minority rights in Pakistan. I participated in the protest in front of UNO against the brutal killing of Shahbaz Bhatti. I continued writing against the discriminatory laws, even from NY and my family was threatened in Pakistan due to that. Please remember me in your prayers.
