Fall of Dacca was not the result of international conspiracy as claimed by some. It was failure of the rulers. In fact East Pakistanis had the courage to loudly raise voice for their rights and criticize rulers for their policies based on discrimination and injustice. Our rulers did not tolerate this brave conduct of East Pakistanis. Instead of treating them on equality basis, the rulers began to suppress them. This created hatred among east Pakistanis against the rulers. But despite all these facts, East Pakistanis were not in favor of disintegration of Pakistan. It was Bengalis who formed Muslim League and contributed maximum to create Pakistan. They never said or demanded separation of Pakistan. It was our politicians and Generals including ZA Bhutto who divided Pakistan to get premiership of the country. It was Bhutto who said that Bengalis were sons of swine/pigs. So Dacca debacle occurred because of our rulers. We can't blame anyone else for this irreparable loss and humiliation. Gangly Khan Mandi Bahauddin
