I watched talk show on Dunya Television this night. Topic was “policy matters”. Nasim Zehra was the host. Ansar Abbasi, Ahsan Iqbal, Maula Bukhash Chandio and Asma Jangir were the guests. The show started with the issue of protest demonstration that took place out side the residence of Sherry Rehman to condemn her for not boycotting Geo Television. Chandio was asked whether holding protest and raising slogans against Sherry was in consonance with democratic manner. He was further asked if top leadership of PPP condemned it. Chandio replied that he did not know whether the act of protest demonstration was condemned or not. However he said in democratic society protest is a way to express one’s feelings and there is no ban on exercising this right. Till this time the show was okay. There after it turned into a fish market. Ansar and Asma were attacking each other with aggressive mode and bitterness,. Every one was justifying one self. Ahsan Iqbal was showing sympathies with Sherry Rehman and at the same time pointing out that there is no democracy inside the PPP. He rather went beyond this and said PPP was not a registered party. I have no hesitation in saying that this was a poor show. Public is tired of such like talk shows which give poor impression of our leaders. Gangly Khan Mandi Bahauddin
