As a Christian and a citizen in civilized society, I cannot even begin to comprehend what religious extremists are thinking when they kill innocent victims. How can they possibly believe that a higher deity would condone killing another human being? More importantly, how could anyone have faith in a superior being "be it Allah or God" that professes to be both the creator of life and also one who commands disciples to murder one another? The militants who continue to kill others, whether the act involves Christians in Pakistan or Israelis in the Middle East, are little more than barbaric savages. They do not possess the courage, nor the intelligence, to address differences with other people. The only limited knowledge they possess is how to destroy and kill. By eliminating those who disagree with them, these religious extremists think they are furthering their cause. But nothing could be farther from the truth, as civilized human beings know. The minds of these misguided zealots are filled only with hate. It seems to me that any religious follower who worships a deity that promotes hatred and enmity is giving praise to something which is not superior at all. After all, what kind of so-called god would need to kill in order to prove its superiority?
