Eucharistic Ministers in Hospital Ministry

Dear Sir, There is a need for parishes to introduce Eucharistic ministers in Hospital ministry. These Eucharistic ministers will visit hospitals within the parish and administer the Holy Eucharist to the Catholic patients and their relatives admitted in these hospitals. The parish priest must send an official circular to all the hospitals requesting the hospitals to give information of any Catholics admitted in their hospitals. The Eucharist minister in turn will visit the hospital and check the authency of the patient before administering the sacrament. Thus the Catholics admitted in different hospitals will not be derived of the Holy Eucharist when they are hospitalized. Catholic hospital staff too could be made Eucharistic ministers that will cater to the Catholics in their own hospitals. Thanking you, Yours in Service of Christ, CAJETAN PETER D'SOUZA
