Dear Sir, In recent times, there is a steep increase in students with learning disabilities. Teachers too are not too well equipped and trained to deal with children with learning disability syndromes. To a certain extend the parents too are to be blamed as they are forcing too much education on their children. They not only want their children to study in English medium schools but also want them to excel in academics and other activities. With an increase with international schools in Mumbai and other parts of the country, where the education level is far high compared to State board schools and fee structure higher, the children are bombarded with too much education. The parents too are responsible to a certain extent as they expect too much from their children that they don’t expect their children to fail in their academics and other activities. There is a need for a intense counseling for the parents who needs to realize the potential in their children and allow them to grow with dignity and not with Learning Disabilities.
