Brother, we totally agree with you that life is short and finding truth is a job itself but only for him who is not following the right WAY, The search of TRUTH urged the person to pray to God that He (God) showed him the WAY of TRUTH and LIFE. As in Surah Al-Fatihah, Verse 6: “AYE ALLAH HUMEIN SIDHI AUR SUCHI RAH DIKHA.†And many found the answer of their prayer in John 14:6 where Jesus said; “RAH AUR HAQ AUR ZINDAGI MEIN HOON, KOI MERE WASILAY KAY BAGAIR BAAP KAY PASS NAHI AATA.†The search for TRUTH ends, when a person recognized that JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. As a Christian, we not only believe on the OLD TESTAMENT but on the whole BIBLE that it is a reliable, authentic, inerrant, consistent, and revealed Scripture. However Muslims have different ideas about it, they usually reject the claim that Bible is an authentic Scripture. Dear Brother Muhammad Ismail, you have stated that in the original manuscript of the book of Song of Songs (Chapter 5 Verse 16); the prophecy of Prophet Muhammad is mentioned by his name. First of all we would like to inform you brother that the most questionable book in the Bible among the Muslims is the book of Song of Songs. Many of the ignorant Muslims called it the pornography even Dr. Zakir Naik has the same opinion. So, my dear on one side the Muslims declare this book of Song of Songs as the pornography and on the other side you are claiming that there is a prophecy of Prophet Muhammad in this book. How can you say that a thing is right and wrong at the same time? Don’t you think its double standards? In response to your claim of prophecy of Prophet Muhammad in Chapter 5 Verse 16 of the book of Song of Songs, I would like to clarify you that the word you write as MUHAMMADIM is actually the word MAKHMADIM which is pronounced as makh-mawdim. MAKHMADIM is a plural word; its singular is MAKHMAD which means the desire, goodly, lovely, pleasant, pleasant thing, beloved etc. For more detailed information I would recommend you to please visit the following websites where you can not only find the Hebrew transliterated word of it but you can also find the translated word of it in many different languages with some more informatory detail. http://www.studylight.org/lex/heb/view.cgi?number=04261 www.hebrewoldtestament.com And for your satisfaction if you want to listen the actual pronunciation of this word you can visit the following website where the Audio Hebrew Bible is available so you can easily go to that link to listen to the reference you mentioned in your claim. www.mechon-mamre.org I hope, after studying these websites you will come to know that the word MAKHMAD is neither similar in meaning nor similar in sound with the word MUHAMMAD. But some of our Muslim brothers claim that this Hebrew Word MAKHMADIM is actually referring to Prophet Muhammad in Song of Songs 5:16. They give two reasons for it; 1. The word MAKHMAD (singular of MAKHMADIM) sounds a bit like the name Muhammad 2. The word MAKHMAD means the praised one (i.e. the one worthy of praise); this, they assert, must be Muhammad! The logic of the assertion that the word MAKHMAD is Muhammad because the two words sound a bit similar is somewhat specious as if we say that the name John sounds a bit like the Arabic Jinn, but actually there is no connection between the two. Similarly a connection on the grounds that the word means "the praised one" falls short of a guaranteed logical link; has only one person in the world ever been praised? The context of the passage identifies the person described as MAKHMAD as someone in the time of Solomon (Song 3:11) who is loved by a Shulamite (Song 6:13). He is red-haired (Song 5:10). None of these descriptions fits Prophet Muhammad who never visited Shunem in his life. A search of all the occurrences of the word MAKHMAD in the Bible shows that the word has nothing to do with praise. It simply refers to whatever is desirable for whatever reason and is derived from the root CHAMAD which means desire. If one is to accept that the word MAKHMAD refers to Muhammad then one should look at all the occurrences of that word. When one does this one can see why only the occurrence in the Song of Solomon is cited by Muslims? The others tell one that MAKHMAD · was destroyed (2 Chron. 36:19), · was to be laid waste (Isa. 64:10-11), · has been taken captive by an enemy (Lam. 1:10), · has been traded for food (Lam. 1:11), · has been slain by God (Lam. 2:4; Hos. 9:16), · has been removed by God (Ezek. 24:16), · is to be profaned by God (Ezek. 24:21), · is to be buried in nettles (Hos. 9:6) and · been carried away by pagans into their temples (Joel 3:5). Even an unkind person would not attribute all these things to the Prophet Muhammad. I hope, it is now clarified to you that the Hebrew word MAKHMAD is not prophesizing about the Prophet Muhammad in Song of Songs 5:16. Under given table contain all the Hebrew transliterated verses and English translated verses which are quoted above; the word MAKHMAD is written as MChMD in transliterated form but sounds the same in the following references; As far as open debate with Dr. Zakir Naik is concerned, before conducting such debate we have to consider upon the after effects of such debate; Do we have the courage to accept the truth with open arm? Do we have the level of tolerance to face the truth? Actually the answer to the above two questions is NO. It has been observed many times in the past that when someone in the west hurt the feeling of our Muslim brothers in response to that they hurt their Christian brothers and their properties in Pakistan. By this you can better imagine the severe consequences occurred after such debate. Religion is a sensitive and explosive topic, even a person who has nothing to do with religious practices excited over religious issues in our country. So in this situation such debate could results the disturbance in the peace of country. Conclusively, we first have to create a moderate and tolerant society if we want to conduct open debate on religious topics.
