Dear Mr. Bhatti, I read the article by Muhammad Ismail from Lahore, who has challenged you to debate Zakir Naik. Before we discuss this issue, let me share a few observations about this letter. It seems that Mr. Ismail is under the impression that you are the writer of this article about Zakir Naik, and is thus challenging you to debate Dr. Naik. This leads me to conclude that Mr. Ismail cannot even read the simple English properly, otherwise he should have known that you are not the writer of this article, in which case he should be challenging the actual writer and not you. Moreover from the tone of the e.mail it seems that Mr. Ismail is an official spokesperson or a representative of Dr. Naik, and in that capacity he can arrange a debate between Dr. Naik and anyone who is criticising the absurdities of Dr. Naik. In this case he may want to persuade Dr. Naik to debate Sam Shamoun, a Christian evangelist who has challenged Dr. Naik for the last 5 years for an open public debate. This challenge can be found on the web.site http://www.answering-islam.org/Responses/Naik/index.htm Mr. Ali Sina, a former Muslim has also challenged Dr. Naik to debate him, and this can be found on the web.site http://www.faithfreedom.org/debates/ZakirNaik.htm Since Dr. Naik is cowardly running from both of these debate challenges for many years, it is great to know that Mr. Ismail being an official representative for Dr. Naik is able to help arrange such a debate. After giving futuile references from the Koran, Mr. Ismail seems to be asking Mr. Bhatti for a debate. Mr. Ismail needs to understand two factors here, firstly Mr. Nazir Bhatti has never claimed to be a debator on Theological issues. Secondly there is no point giving any Koranic references, as we Christians do not believe that Koran is a divine book from God. Before giving any reference from the Koran, you will first need to substantiate beyond doubt that Koran is God’s word. If it is not too manly for you to prove that Koran is the word of God, then Mr. Ismail I challenge you personally to debate me this topic first through the pages of PakistanChristianPost. Will wait impatiently for Mr. Ismail to persuade Dr. Naik for a debate with Sam Shamoun or Ali Sina, and to debate with me on the pages of Pakistan Christian Post on the question of Koran being God’s word.
