Greetings. Pastor Gill from Canada is one of the readers of the e-mails regarding Church of Pakistan, who has a burden for the Church in Pakistan. He had raised few questions which need to be answered for the sake of information as more new readers are joining in. The main issue in the Church within Pakistan is corruption and can be easily scanned in various denominations. Besides corruption in financial matters, abuse of power and constitutional irregularities the illegal sale of properties is a curse here in Pakistan as they bring a lot of money which goes under the table in the pockets of the illegal officials/leadership. Hence this has become a lucrative business in the Churches of Pakistan. Properties have been illegally sold in the Lahore Church Council, United Presbyterian Church now called the PCP, in the United Methodist Church and the Church of Pakistan especially by the Church of Scotland Attorneys and the Lahore Diocesan Trust Association by Bishop Alexander John Malik of Lahore. Since I belong to the Church of Pakistan and have seen the sales of properties here in Queeta (Julius Garage, Sheikh Manda and Bus stand) and have seen that it has become the base of conspiracies within the Church of Pakistan, as lobbies have come up by the joining of hands of like minded people for the sake of share from this illicit money thus disturbing the normal life of the Church, we have taken upon ourselves to fight this battle in the most peaceful way by showing the innermost picture of our leaders who are involved in such practices. Recently two properties have been sold in Karachi Diocese. 1. St. Andrews Church, Abdullah Haroon Road, Karachi 2. St. Johns Church, Tarachand Road, Keamari, Karachi Although we are confident that the brothers in Karachi would be able to save these properties, yet the question remains what the leadership enjoying the benefits is doing. Out worldly they through their mouths are denying any involvement and at times even go to the Courts to save their skins from the public but the tragedy is that with out their blessings and involvement these properties cannot be sold. The so-called Bishop Rev. Sadiq Daniel got his share from Queeta and the places in Karachi. We are grieved at the attitude of the Western Partners who have ruled in this part of the world for a long time as it being their colony. This rule also included the Churches of different denominations. While we are thankful for the services of the old time missionaries who had a different heart for the people and the Church, but the present day leaders of the Church organizations of the West have a different attitude. They are more lobbies/policies oriented and have duel standards in dealing with different persons. It is on their support that the Church Properties Sellers Association is surviving and gaining financial benefits. This is the brief of the reasons of death and decay in the Church of Pakistan but with growing awareness we hope that the Christians of Pakistan will stand up to their moral duties, democratic and constitutional rights in order to bring about a change in the life of the church. Some stubborn leaders think that they will get away due to the amount of money they can spend in their defense and due to their relations with the high ups of the Government, but I assure you that it will now not be long when the people of Pakistan will bring them to books.
