I was especially moved that you referred to me as your brother although the Quran does not permit you to do this. “ A Muslim must not take a Jew or a Christian for a friend “ (Surah 5:54). I must commend you for being so courageous , brave and open minded. I lived in the middle east for quite some time before migrating to the U.S. As it is in any Islamic country, I had no freedom of speech , religion nor press there. Although I was not granted these rights, I would never criticize their ways in any case. Being a Christian I was taught that Christianity does not aspire to rule, but teaches that we are to be subject to rulers and authorities regardless of their religion…….(Titus 3:1, Timothy 2: 1-4) In your response to my letter you quoted Deuteronomy 20:10-17 from the old testament. The answer is actually in the new testament in the book of Hebrew Chapter 7 –10. The old testament was a progression towards the new testament better known as the Gospel or in Urdu Anjeel. Islam came 600 years after Christ but quotes, for its own purposes, the Old Testament. The Old Testament was already transformed and accomplished by Christ when Mohammed began to quote the Bible for references of some truth. Islam is actually a mixture of Judaism in the environment of the Arab culture and is based on practices of paganism existent in the sixth century. The immigration of Mohammed from Mecca to Medina was defining moment in the history of Islam. Everything in the mind set of the prophet of Islam changed especially his attitude toward the unbelieving people around him. In Mecca Mohammed never spoke of jihad. There was no talk of holy war because he did not posses military strength and his movement was small and week in society. But in Medina, where he built an army, the major topic of Quranic revelation was Jihad and fighting the enemy . Revelations increasingly served to motivate Muslims to fight. If you compare Mohammed’s life in Mecca and his life in Medina you find that Mohammed’s move from Mecca to Medina changed Islam into a political movement. Dr. Qmar Farouk wrote in his book “The Arabs and Islam”, that Islam went from a religious and spiritual revelation to a political agenda. I am very capable of quoting the entire Bible, Quran and Hadith to support my point in this matter but instead I would like to enlighten you because you would make a good Christian brother. I know you are an educated individual to please pay close attention to these closing points I have mentioned. Let’s compare the Prophet Of Islam’s teachings and life with that of Jesus Christ’s teachings and life. This is how the prophet of Islam teaches about peace in the Quran (Surah 5:54, 9:29, 9:5, 2:193, 9:5, 9:12, 4:59) and then in the Hadith (vol. 1 no. 25) (vol. 2, no. 68) (vol. 1, pgs XXII—XI) (vol. 1, pg. 27) (vol 1, no. 104). On the Contrary Christ Commands his followers to love everyone, even their enemies (Matthew 5:43-48). Christians are instructed not to condemn others (Romans 14:4) Christianity separates between church and state (Luke 20:25) Christianity is a spiritual religion (John 6:63,10:10) Christians are instructed not to judge or punish those who reject their views (1 Peter 3:9,Luke 6:37). NOBODY, other than Jesus, ever claimed that he could give others the assurance of salvation from sin (Acts 4:12,1 John 2:22-23, John 8:45) (Cross reference: Romans 9:5, Isaiah 9:6).
