LET THE CHURCH BE CHURCH... BY Ijaz Inayat Masih

By :

As learnt from the Scriptures the Church is always 'Universal' and 'Body of believers', and the basic assignment to it for all times by the Lord is to save souls and prepare them for the Lords coming. The 'Supreme law' as set by the Lord for its functioning is "Love". It was on this rule that the Church set its priorities and ministries. Very sadly the Church is becoming more and more institutional, policy and personality oriented, commercial institution and worldly. The only time Jesus used the whip was when he saw that the 'House of the Lord' has become a market instead of a 'house of prayer'. It is against this prevailing spirit that we are standing to give to the Lord that belongs to Him and to His people what belongs to them. We are only the servants of the Lord and His people and must act accordingly. The Church presently is also a democratic institution whose responsible persons must act according to the agreed rules as laid down in the constitution. I feel it is my duty to act according to my understanding and conscience even if the Western partners do not like this stand. I also know that it is a moment of concern for the Pakistani leadership as well which has cleverly disguised itself as 'saints' at the moment. It is written in the 'Word of God', that every thing that is hidden shall be made known. Very shortly within days we shall be publishing the proofs of the sale of properties and the illegal changes made in the 'Articles of association' of LDTA. I think it will be a matter of interest for the chairperson of CPMP-F to look into the documentary evidence of the sold properties and to know at what prices. In the mean time let him look in the atlas of Pakistan to find out where Chunian, Bhaipheru, Naeowal, Bank of India at Nilagumbad, Hyderabad, Sukher and Quetta are and in what areas these properties were and what was the market price of those properties and how much is shown in the papers. It would be rather more fruitful for the Church of Pakistan if our friends pray in true spirit for its restoration rather than commenting on issues on which they have no first hand knowledge. We have always challenged our friends to come along on a fact finding mission and hold open and honest inquiry into unconstitutional actions of those persons whom they are trying to defend so hard in vain. Dear friends you have encouraged these elements and set a course of the Civil Courts when the time went in their favor. Now the LDTA matters and unconstitutional events are in the Courts. We expect all of you to respect the decisions of the Courts if they went against their team. My only appeal to each and every person is to "let the Church be the Church". The Rt. Rev.
