Dear Editor, Hope that my comments will not hurt anyone; I just want to say that the phase through which our community is going through in Pakistan is really bad and is turning worse day by day. I am sorry to say that there is a lack of leadership within the Pakistani Christian community like the former MPA Baluchistan Assembly Hon. Shauket Bashir ((on Of late Hon. Bashir Masih Deputy Speaker Baluchistan Assembly) was an illiterate person and was more over a porter at Heathrow Airport before becoming MPA, and many more like him are sitting in the assemblies. We even don't have 10% literacy within our community I just want to convey a message to the organizers of this event that Please, don't waste your precious time by holding this event instead do something positive for the community by organizing a seminar or an awareness programmed about the importance of education and uplifting of the community. I also want to suggest one more thing to PCC that it is not important for us to sit in the Parliament than to get our community educated we need Doctors Engineers and skilled people Please, make a funding organization who can fund the students for their higher education as a student. I know it is difficult to get admission in the professional colleges in Pakistan, but Christian student can get admission very easily in most of the Eastern European states even if they have a 3rd division in F.Sc eg Romania, Estonia etc, in Medicine and Engineering. The Degrees/education from these countries is widely accepted in around the world and the fee per year is just $3200 boarding and lodging is $1000 extra. We Pakistani Christians living abroad can and should contribute monetarily towards that fund or trust for the sake of saving our community and up lifting it. Lastly I would like to say I have Lived my childhood and youth in Quetta (St, Mary's Vicarage. 47 M.A Jinnah Road Quetta Cantt) as my father Rev. Luther Fiaz Samuel was Vicar of St Mary's Church from 1989-1996.I know the condition of Quetta more than anyone else does there is no doubt that Mr. Akbar Khan Bugti is a big wig of Quetta but he treats the local Christians like ...S..., and to give the award to a person nominated by him is totally unacceptable.
