Brother Sabir Bashir, The love, knowledge and understanding of the Lord be with you. Thank you very much for your concern and right full contribution in the debate. I must make it very clear that the debate is not an encounter between the Western Church and the Eastern Church. It is about what is right for us and what is wrong for us so that with out the dictation of the Western Church we as a Pakistani Church must decide the way we want our Church to be. May be it is rude to suggest or ask if a daughter/son of one of the Pakistanis living in the west come and seeks permission to be married to a woman/man in the church publicly. What would you do? Are you ready to apply the same rules (the rules of living in west, the ones you quoted in your email) and permit her/him? The problem here is that the present leadership has taken it for granted that it is their church rightly supported by the Western partners and they can do any and every thing. We have decided to challenge this attitude. We are not bothered by what Bishop Malik do privately, but since he are being quoted in the Punjab Assembly by sitting Ministers on policy matters and the Gay issue is in black and white with his name, we have the right to express our feelings and concerns so that what is being said on our behalf to the Government, Western Partners and the public is corrected for the sake of our own reputation as a Christian Community living in Pakistan.
