Hi I am a 23 year old Indian Christian (Mangalorean) working for a leading software MNC in India. I was trawling through the world wide web when I came upon your paper's web site (www.pakistanchristianpost.com) and the site relating to political party for pakistani christians (www.pakistanchristiancongress.com). I was very intrigued and fascinated by the whole thing, to say the least. The reasons are manifold. As a christian in India, I face little, if not none, discrimination in my aspiration to fulfill my dreams. But from what I read and see and hear in the global media, the minorities in pakistan are denied access to a lot of things that we christians take for granted in India, albeit the christian community in India too is a miniscule minority. True, the political atmosphere has been vitiated to some extent with the arrival of the BJP in the national consciousness, but nevertheless, thanks be to God, we still enjoy complete freedom to express and practise our faith. But as a christian, I am deeply pained when I hear about the rampant discrimination that fellow christians have to face in Muslim-majority countries on a daily basis. And its really is a sad commentary on our times that at a time when christian economic power is at its peak globally, the christians in the first world seem like they couldn't care less about the state of affairs of their less fortunate(blessed?) christian brethren in muslim-majority christians. And all this at a time when Islam has continued its policy of expansion and subjugation of christians in its quest for one global ISlamic Ummah. I hope and pray to out Lord Jesus that things will eventually work out for the good of those who believe in Him. And its my opinion, sir, that christians in pakistan are living testimony to the persistence of the christian flame in the face of persecution. Its also my opinion that its the christian's responsibility, not just to keep that flame alive, but to spread the light that is the byproduct of that flame. I was prompted to send this mail to you after going through your website, particulary the section where you have asked for volunteers for your cause. I dont know how I can be of help, but I think that is inconsequential; I leave it to you to decide how I can be of help for the christian cause. Considering that we are so geographically disparate, what strikes me first is that I could be some kind of a content writer/correspondent for your web site.
