For Tina Butler... By Bishop T. Nasir

By :

Dear Mr. Nazir Bhatti, Greetings from Pakistan. I wish to bring "Ms Tina Butler" out of her confusion. As Christians we must understand Lord Jesus Christ. It is written, "In the beginning there was Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God". (John 1:1-2) Therefore we have no doubt that Lord Jesus Christ is the God who came to save the world from sin and became "Perfect Man and Perfect God". He was crucified and died on Cross for our sins as "Perfect Man". He rose from the dead on the third day as Perfect God. We must also understand that God is a Spirit. Lord Jesus Christ after resurrection did preach to the lost souls. He gave strength and perfect knowledge to his Disciples and commanded them to preach the Gospel all over the world. New Testament Book "The Acts of Apostles" according to some scholars is actually acts of Jesus Christ. Or the acts of Holy Spirit. Please note how abruptly the book of Acts closes. It is because the acts of Christ or Holy Spirit did not stop ever since. It continues even today and will continue for ever. Now we must take a look at Holy Trinity. God was with us always as father. He lived among us as Son and He lives among us as Holy Spirit. God said said unto Moses, "I AM THAT I AM" -----, "I AM" hath sent me unto you". (Exodus 3:14). Lord Jesus Christ said, I AM the light of the world (John 8:12) "Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM." (John 8:58). Jesus said unto her, I AM the resurrection, and the life (John 11:26). "Jesus saith unto him, I AM the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6). and the Holy Spirit said, "Wherefore as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works for forty years". (Hebrew 3:7-9) These passages clearly tells that "I AM" is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit". I AM means the Holy Trinity was there before start of time, it is with us and it shall be with us till eternity. ("I am" is used here for present continuous tense). As far as preaching of Lord Jesus Christ in open after resurrection is concerned, this was not in the will of God. If Jesus Christ, who was crucified and died and buried in the presence of the people of Jerusalem only on Friday had walked through the streets of the city and in the Temple on Sunday, then people had no choice but to believe in Him. This is not what God wants. He wants us to believe in Him through faith and not through compulsion. It is my firm faith that had Lord Jesus Christ walked in the streets of the city the whole world would have been Christian today. Yet He said, "blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed". (John 20:29). Lord Jesus Christ did not disappear, He was with His people then and even now and blessed are we who have not seen Him and yet believe in Him. Bishop Timotheus Nasir
