In the early 80's I went to US consulate general to apply for a US visitor visa and I saw a big line of Afghan refugees at the compound of of the consulate general. The consualte staff was entertaining them with snacks and bottled water. The consualte was issuing immigrant visa, money and air ticket to USA at the spot to each Afghan by checking their passport or ID. Western world is a so called champion of human rights their help is based on politics and race. The truth is that Soviet Union was not a threat to general public and Islam in particlar and they never harmed a common man. Even now these Afghan refugees are enjoying food stamps and welfare money from the government. We Pakistani Christians are not against of Western countries help to Afghans and Bosnians but isn't it a double standard of them that our Christian minority are living under the fears of terrorists attack, our children are scared, our people have no future they want to go out of country because of the growing religious fanaticism in Pakistan as NWFP and Balochistan where a large population of Christian live is ruled by MMA government and they are implementing Shariat law in those provinces and the Western world is denying visitors and education visa to Pakistani Christians? The western world has the shortage of farmers and nurses they should give such opportunity to Pakistani Christians? Am I demanding too much from the champions of democracy and human rights?
