My Dear Fellow Templars, The following article is from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, July 6thedition: "A Roman Catholic priest who received death threats after his church took over a school in eastern Pakistan was shot dead at home Saturday, police said. Gunmen broke into the Rev. George Ibrahim's home shortly after midnight. There were no reports of arrests and no claims of responsibility." Let us pray for the Church, and for Father Ibrahim's family, and for all of the Christians in Pakistan and other lands where Christians are martyred for their faith. Chev. Rev. Masih still sits in his jail cell in the Sialkot District Jail. Let us redouble our efforts to have him released. We know that he sits in chains in a land where Christians have not been so brutalized since the reign of Emperor Nero or Diocletian . . . we MUST obtain his release, or he will surely be added to the lengthening list of martyrs for our Lord in that country. Please write those letters, and work through your own church and the churches of your friends to generate support on his behalf. Write to your Congressional representatives and demand that Pakistan stop its state-sanctioned persecution of Christians. Our nation just handed our over $3 billion in aid to Pakistan, and we should not be subsidizing the persecution of Christians! Thank you for your prayers and letters.
