Dear Editor, We would hereby draw your kind attention please that we left a far better & luxurious life their in Pakistan just for the cause of religion differences with the Islamic fanatics those are using the name of JIHAD only for own ways & to kill the innocent people around the world as well as conversion to Christian faith. It was the day of June 05, 2000, that I have finally decided to convert in to Christianity and to choose it as my religion. I am one of those who are not against any faith & religion but I feel Christianity is a more appropriate religion. On June 05, 2000 my friend Mr. Shamon came to my home situated at Islamabad, Pakistan; on the same day he had planed to go with me to the nearest Catholic Church, situated at F-8 Markaz Islamabad but we couldn't due to badly interference of Mr. Asifullah a hardliner & religious fanatic. Asifullah is one of my closest relative, a hardliner and also a regional leader of Islamic fundamentalists Party i.e. JAMIATUL ULEMA-E-ISLAM (J.U.I) was living the same vicinity, has come and talked against Christians. I told him to change his way of thinking for other religions, some heated discussions but he didn't change and starting abusing, shouted, called us declared "KAFAR".When he felt that I was favoring Christianity, then he become very angry and attacked upon us and spoke loudly, at that time my wife and children came in but Asifulah left out and told that I will come again to fix you all. At the same evening of June 05, 2000, he came again along with others Mullahs heavily armed & took me away to their nearest Mosque namely JAMIA MASJID UL MUJAHID also in the same vicinity. They detained me there for more than five hours, beaten, betrayed and threaten me to leave Christianity or to die. It was the day of June 21, 2000, that we were ready to go to Church but upon arrival of my Christian friend Mr. Shamon Masih, he was also been attacked by the same Mullahs (priests) along with some of our closed neighbors. They put him into the car, badly beaten, also tear the Holy Bible, took him away and threw him out of our vicinity and threaten him not to come here again. All of our neighbors were declared social boycott and Mullahs (priests) given advised to all of our neighbors to leave us lonely & isolated. I was running successfully a business of financial services company which was also badly affected and almost finished due to this whole incident; we all were totally kept restricted to our home only & even our children were stopped from their education. Over and above they came again in the morning on June 26, 2000 but my wife told them that my husband is not here. In fact I was at home but we all were so scared, that we can never explain. They had also given a warning letter to my wife, in which they not only threaten us to either leave this place or to rejoin Islam/leave Christianity, also warned that they can kill us all and to burn down our home. In the last paragraph of that letter, they had mentioned, that they have already sent a copy of this letter to the entire nearest Mosque as well as to all regional offices of J.U.I My wife & I finally decided to seek police protection at Police Station Islamabad but there they totally ignored our request/complaint & they didn't file our complaint against those Mullahs. Even (Policemen) pressurised me, badly beaten, kept me standing for the whole time, detained me there till midnight in the presence of those accused Mullahs. They told me that Police would never protect you in these circumstances and also threaten me that they will keep me under the rules of one Islamic law, is Blasphemy. After all finally we have decided to leave Islamabad .We sold out all our house hold etc at very low prices and at the midnight of June 28, 2000 we shifted to our native City Peshawar. We stayed there with my sister in-law Peshawar; because our own house, situated at Peshawar City, was already rented out by my mother (My mother is living with my brother at Rahatabad, Peshawar. We started normal life there; our children also continued their education and were trying to find some house as well as to start business. It was the 3rd day of August, 2000 that those fanatics Mullahs chased to our new location and they started harassments to forcing our relatives to spell us out from their house. They had also given threat to our host relatives that if they will not send them out, you should be ready for blood shed here. Our relatives were also scared with receiving this kind of threat and asked us please try to arrange some other place as soon as possible. Then we had to double my efforts to find some house for us but it was hard because of the fear of Mullahs, my mother and brother had also refused to give us any kind of help, in fact almost all of my family had broken relations with us by knowing about our change of religion and we became totally isolated. At the 10th of September, 2000 evening, my son was sick due to his throat infection and so I had decided to consult the nearest Clinic, but when my son and I were a few meters away from our relative premises, suddenly I saw three persons having arms were chasing us but I immediately decided to run back towards home. They fired three shots but luckily we were escaped. We felt very scared due to this shocking incident and all of us hidden ourselves on the top floor of the house, later that evening after half an hour they came along with others tens of armed persons, they stared banging the door and asked to our host relative to send us outside or otherwise they will put fire to the house. Some friends of our relative intervened and gave promises/guarantee that we would leave this place within a week time. We were house detained inside our relatives' home and on the day of 15th September, 2000, we shifted at early in the morning to another relative's house situated at Gulbahar, Peshawar city. Persecution in the name of Jesus Christ. as in Holy Bible chapter Luke 21:19, 10-17. Only two options were left in front of us; whether we leave the country or rejoined Islam, but we believe that religious is a personal matter. We took a final decision to leave the country as soon as possible because it was not possible for us to live in that hatred society & to foreseeing any thing could be happened any time, we requested to some one to arrange our abroad journey. He fined an agent, who took the responsibility of sending us to any European country against the payment of US$40,000. We sold our car (Honda Civic Exi, model 2000), cash in hand & banks, sold some of my wife's gold & Jewelries etc to bear the expenses of our trip plus cash. Unfortunately the agent told us that at the last movement he didn't arranged for our eldest son to travel with us and he promised that he will joins you very soon but he was cheated. Consequently we missed & lost our son so far. Moreover a wrongfully case has been registered against me by Mullahs on 17/08/2000. We are very frustrated & worrying for our son Asad that he has been kidnapped disappeared by fanatics revengefully on October 10, 2001. He has not been recovered so far.
