Dear editor, The letter by an UNKNOWN MUSLIM is a total joke and absolute mockery to the most primitive logic. His essay by itself is so great a contradictive piece that it would be best left unheard to save Islamic logic from further disgrace. The bellicose started of somewhere with 'this tradition (persecuting apostasy) is upheld and taught by most Muslim religious leaders around the world today. In countries like Iran, Sudan and Saudi Arabia the death sentence for leaving Islam is actually part of the law. Whilst in Egypt there is technically no law banning apostasy, converts are still actively punished by the police ' then ends with 'Shariah does not teach to put people to death if they convert .. their punishment is with God, because we truely do not goes what goes on in peoples heart.' and then, advising the Christians 'to do their research properly'. The persecution of Muslims who converted out of their religion is well known, yet only to be shoveled aside by the pressing Islamic intellectuals with monotonous statements about 'Muhammad's 'holy' deeds and 'justified' killings' and the 'beauties' of Syariah Law. I live in MALAYSIA, a Muslim country looked up high upon by the Muslim as a 'developed' nation. Yet little the Muslims know the development where quietly carried out by non-Muslims (many who are Christians), whose achievements were quiet down by the Muslims. God knows how they persecute the converts from Muslims to Christianity. God knows how they trumpet their new mualafs (new converts) before the non-Muslims with incentives and generous mass media coverage and trample every move by Christians to spread the Gospel. God knows how many of the murtads have been sent to 'special classes' to have them brain washed with super-retarded superfluous reviews of other religion in hope that they return to the 'true only teaching'. Below are the excerpts from one of the most reliable Hadith -Sahih Burkhari- regarding Muhammad's (sorry, no peace-be-upon-him because I am a Christian) thoughts upon murtads. Volume 9, Book 83, Number 17: Narrated 'Abdullah: Allah's Apostle said, "The blood of a Muslim who confesses that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that I am His Apostle, cannot be shed except in three cases: In Qisas for murder, a married person who commits illegal sexual intercourse and the one who reverts from Islam (apostate) and leaves the Muslims." Volume 9, Book 84, Number 57: Narrated 'Ikrima: Some Zanadiqa (atheists) were brought to 'Ali and he burnt them. The news of this event, reached Ibn 'Abbas who said, "If I had been in his place, I would not have burnt them, as Allah's Apostle forbade it, saying, 'Do not punish anybody with Allah's punishment (fire).' I would have killed them according to the statement of Allah's Apostle, 'Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him." Of course, someone will turn back to me in tortuous scholastic manner with interplay of you-don't-understand statements or urging me perhaps to 'read what is hidden' or 'in the light of Quran'. I think we have had enough of these. Believe me unknown-Muslim-Brother, the continuous absurdity of such unjust law is proportional to the continuity of disrespect from the non-Muslims about the Muslims. Should you be shamed -or speak with devilish pride- when a kindergarten child will berate why millions of Christians are able to convert and no Muslims should be allowed to leave their 'holy' religion.
