I wasn't going to email you again until I got my lab results Wednesday afternoon, but was sickened this morning when I saw the front-cover of today's NY Post. On it is a picture, not for the squeamish of an Iraqi gleeing- glowing-smirking over the dead bodies of US soldiers in an Iraqi morgue. In other photos, not in the Post it appears that our soldiers may have been shot in the head---execution style... I am not forwarding it to you, but encouraging you to try & take a look @ www.nypost.com (the front page can be enlarged, but thank God not to the actual size).The reason I am doing so is that this photo, a small piece of what was broadcast globally combined w/ a Muslim-American soldier fragging his colleagues and killing his commander over the weekend might lead in the future to anti-Muslim violence in the US...after 9/11 my friend Panama witnessed a gang attacking an Arab (looking?) cab driver a couple blocks away from my home & my friend Tony, an Italian-American who could to some look Arabic was verbally threatened,cursed @ and harrassed by a couple strangers recently, Tony is like 350 pounds and Thank God it turned into nothing...please pray that our fellow country men will remain level headed. I have several friends from countries like Pakistan; former Muslim coworkers who I was very close to; had a Pakistani (Christian from TSC) roommate, Anan who some of you met @ one of our Wards Island events; and oversaw the Muslim volunteers @ Wards Island. VOA even received a commendation letter for my cooperation from the famous mosque founded by Malcolm X-the Masjid Malcolm Shabazz in Harlem... Those that know my neighborhood also know that if I walk north, east,south or west out of my building's front door I don't have to go more than a 1/2 a block or a block to see Arabic (& Arab-American) merchants that I respect and have been dealing w/ for many years.... My hopes are that wherever and whenever we can influence others (ie there are teachers and preachers on this mailing) we will encourage respect for others; and that when we can we'll keep a watchful eye over our friends.....amen, this morning ? Again, I would leave viewing the NY Post (www.nypost.com) up to you, don't read it w/ your morning breakfast, and I pray that this will be a very short war.... Rick
