LARKANA: February 27, 2009. (report by Nazir Siyal) An Indonesian Consul General Mustakim visited mausoleum of the martyrs of Bhutto's family at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto some 30 km here.
Consul General visited the grave of assassinated PPP Chairperson Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Ex-premier Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and others. He laid floral wreaths at the graves and also offered "Fateha" on the occasion.
He also paid a visit to the Larkana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) according to the scheduled meeting with the office bearers of business community regarding Pakistan-Indonesia relationship.
Mustakim expressed his deep relations with ex-premiers Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, during the visit of Larkana he is much inspire by the people and he is interested to boost the import and export business as well as economic, cultural and other relations he said.
Consul General of Indonesia said the ties with Pakistan will remain continuously as brotherly relations since the 1947, added the strong diplomatic relations were established in 1951 and later on trust and mutual understanding for the importance of global and regional issues are priority of both countries he said.
He said the bilateral trade and economic relations is an important to explore the IT, marine/air services, Industrial, Banking and technical sectors to promote between the ties with Pakistan and Indonesia he said. He said the Indonesia is the second largest trading partner with the Pakistan, which is in the ASEAN region and could be started the big market with the cost of 225 million, added that Indonesia and Pakistan emerged a largest buyer in the ASEAN region and during the business taking share about 20 percent total of export intend for this region he told. He said there is good prospect to enhance trade and lots of potential could be explored he said.
He disclosed that the Pakistan and Indonesia Import and Export in 2007-2008 is 1,300.000 million US dollars in volume, while the exports to RI is 183 and Import RI is the 1,117.000 million US dollars he told.
Mustakim told that Pakistan imports vegetables, fats, oils, coal, coke and briquettes, paper and paper board, fruit and vegetables, synthetic textile, fiber, chemical material and products, chemical elements and compounds, machinery, all kinds of road vehicles, parts, yarn and thread of synthetic fiber, iron, steel and manufactures, thereof tea and mate, crude rubber and others.
While Pakistan exports raw cotton, yarn, cotton fabrics, wheat, vegetables, tarpaulins, fruits, flax and jute, leather, sorts, rice, fish and others.
He suggested the business community to increase the export business with Indonesia in a bilateral trade as the Pakistani products have a good market in Indonesia he said.
He said the Indonesia will held Arginex (Agriculture Expo) in March for discover the agricultural sector and explore the forest, fish market and other crops.
Before this, President LCCI Masood Ahmed Shaikh welcomed the guest and committed to strengthen relations between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry and hoped to encourage the enterprising, marketing of the products to contribute in the development of trade in Larkana. He said he would welcome the mutual trade relations with Indonesia specially from the location of world heritage of Moen-Jo-Daro in Larkana.
On the occasion Vice president Bool Chand, Ex-president and executive body members including Mohammed Suleman Shaikh, Khair Mohammed Shaikh, Iqbal Hussein Shaikh, Abdul Razak Brohi, Anwer Ali Shaikh, Abdul Sattar Shaikh and others were present.
