30 killed by suicide blast in funeral of slain Shia leader Sher Zaman.

Dera Ismail Khan: February 29, 2009. (PCP) A fifteen year old suicide bomber blasted him during funeral procession of prominent Shia leader Sher Zaman who was shot dead on Thursday. The sectarian violence is at rise in NWFP after Taliban declare war against Pakistan. The Tribal area of Para Chanar is locality of Shia Community from long time and Sunni-Shia enjoyed harmony in adjacent belt. The situation suddenly changed when Northeren Alliance in Afghanistan helped NATO forces to root out Taliban regime. The Northern Alliance are tribes in North of Afghanistan with majority population of Shia Muslims. According to AFP, Gulzar Hussain, 26, said he had been walking in the funeral procession for the late Sher Zaman, a local community leader shot dead a day earlier, when a man rushed into the centre of the crowd. Suddenly there was a deafening explosion. "All I could see after the blast were body parts lying in a pool of blood," he told AFP by telephone from his hospital bed.
