Philadelphia: January 5, 2009. President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC, Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, deplored statement of Minister for Minorities Shahbaz Bhatti that Christians and other religious minorities are enjoying equal rights in Pakistan. “Shahbaz Bhatti is voice of his masters and 15 million Christians condemn his such statement when blasphemy laws and other discriminatorily laws are operating in Pakistan” said Nazir Bhatti Dr. Bhatti said, “Christians are treated like second class citizens in Pakistan and persecuted by Muslim dominated society” Pakistan government have used Rev. Ruffin Julius, State Minister for Minorities, Julius Salik, Minister of Population Planning and many Bishops to say that Christians are enjoying equal rights in Pakistan as propaganda machinery on international and national forums when situation of Christians was entirely different in Pakistan. Now Shahbaz Bhatti is issuing such statements on behalf of PPP government in Pakistan that minorities are enjoying equal rights in Pakistan, which is not true. Dr. Nazir Bhatti said, “ Christians are behind bars under blasphemy laws, Christian women are forcibly converted to Islam, teenage girls are gang raped, Christian youth is un-employed and Christians are facing hunger”
