Srinagar: November 25, 2008. An extra-ordinary meeting of JAMMU KASHMIR PEOPLES LEAGUE was convened at party headquarters Srinagar which was chaired by parties acting Chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza. In the meeting a threadbare discussion was held on the present situation. While addressing the Peoples League high profile dignitaries Waza said that Shaheed-e-Azeemat (Martyr of Determination), Sheikh Abdul Aziz has sacrificed his life for broad-spectrum unity among the resistance leadership of Kashmir. Paying rich tributes to Sheikh Abdul Aziz and other martyrs of Kashmir. Waza urged the sympathizers and activists of peoples league to make this peaceful political resistance organization an effective platform to which common Kashmiris will reckon with so that the dream of Shaheed-e-Azeemat, Sheikh Abdul Aziz) is fulfilled. He appealed common masses of people to solicit their sincere co-operation and timely suggestions so that Jammu Kashmir Peoples League will emerge as a full-flagged pro-freedom democratic political organization. Waza said that by holding anti-polls demonstrations, people of Kashmir have yet again conveyed a strong message to the world that elections are not an alternative to their right to self-determination and they are not interested in any such futile exercise. Peoples League strongly condemned the imposition of undeclared curfews by the puppet authorities to thwart the rallies and said that government of India was using unprecedented force to conduct elections in Jammu Kashmir to befool the international community. They urged the international community to send its fact finding team to Kashmir to take first hand stock of the situation and witness how India is conducting farce elections in Jammu Kashmir in presence of lakhs of troops. If Kashmir problem is again kept on back burner or the powers of the sub-continent keep the issue in limbo it can have the severe ramifications -- even canister a nuclear cataclysm in the whole of the sub-continent, therefore, tide of time indicates that India Pakistan seem to be very serious about the resolution of Kashmir; henceforth Peoples League urges both neighbouring countries to choke-out a concrete programme based policy to resolve long pending Kashmir issue as per the wishes and aspirations of the common stock of people living in Jammu Kashmir, which we can hope against the hope, Waza said. It is worth to mention that the meeting was attended by Gh. Nabi Darzi, Sheikh Zahoor Ahmad, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Mohammad Ashraf Vaid, Pervaiz Ahmad Dar, Gh. Nabi Waseem, Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, Engineer Sajad, Shakeel-ul-Rehman and other activists.
