Ahmar Mustikhan pays tribute to Nawabzada Bala’ach Marri

A poet's tribute to Nawabzada Bala'ach Marri, son of veteran leader Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri, who had taken an oath of allegiance to Baluchistan-- in stead of Pakistan--, when he was sworn in as a member of the Baluchistan state assembly in 2002. Nawabzada Marri was martyred on November 20, 2007 while struggling to put Baluchistan as an independent nation on the worldmap. You can take my life, but not my land He kept his vow till the very end A sire is glad no false pledge his hero took But swore an oath for Baluchistan The North Star from Kohlu, the Baluch nose The father is proud he walked the talk The blood that was shed on Sarlath grounds Nurtured his motherland one more time Life of glory palladin lives, a story of love Much tragedy cowardice is for human race Swines to lord over me at point of gun If that's a destiny for me I better not be Paint my mountains red, here's my heart For in my death is my nation's life A leader's gift to his people for times to come The comrade in arms who was part of his flesh True to your name Bala'ach, the legend Freedom is our revenge for your death
