Urgent prayer needs for Lebanon, that martyrdom translates into revival. Brother E.G.Hossein

It is with great sorrow that we share about our American sister and friend, Bonnie, who was killed Thurs. morning (Nov. 21st) in Sidon. We have been crying and praying since we heard the news early Thurs. She served in our pre-natal clinic in Sidon.

She came to the clinic early at 7:30 am as was her habit in order to get ready for the day. On average 40-50 women come to the clinic twice a week. Someone entered the clinic right after she got there and shot her in the head. She was 30. She was very dedicated to her work, and she was here because she loved Jesus and the women she was serving. Because of the ministry that is happening there, our church in Sidon received numerous threats this past year. The governor of Sidon intervened a number of times and was able to arrange a meeting last summer between Pastor Sami (our Lebanese pastor) and the Muslim leader in the South. The meeting was not very friendly. There were five Muslim clerics attending, and one of them in particular was very confrontational with Pastor Sami. He told Sami: "Evangelism is a red line in Sidon." I'm sure the war on terrorism in general, the possible war against Iraq, and the violence in Israel make American targets in the Muslim world even more vulnerable. Please pray for us and pastor Sami and the church to know how we should deal with this tragedy. Also pray for the people of Sidon, And of course for Bonnie's husband and family (parents and one sister). We love you, PS: We had a memorial service on Sunday at the Sidon Church and no less than 450 people from many protestant churches as well as overseas workers came. It is unprecedented. You can read about Bonnie on the NYT website.
