Sialkot: Sunil Masih, a 28-year-old Christian man from Sialkot, has been missing since 31st April 2026 after leaving home for an evening walk.

Despite the family reporting his disappearance immediately, relatives say the police response has been slow and deeply disappointing.

The distressed family has staged protests and appealed to Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Ramesh Singh Arora for urgent intervention.

The British Asian Christian Association is highlighting the case and supporting calls for action to help locate Sunil Masih.

Disappeared After an Evening Walk

According to family members, Sunil Masih left his home for an evening walk near his neighbourhood in Sialkot but never returned.

His family immediately began searching for him and later reported his disappearance to local police the same day. However, relatives claim the response from the authorities was deeply disappointing.

Nadeem Masih explained that police initially advised the family simply to wait rather than launching an urgent investigation.

The family says days turned into weeks with no progress or information regarding Sunil’s whereabouts.

Sunil Masih had spent the previous ten years living and working in Greece before returning to Pakistan last year to reunite with his family.

Family Stages Protest Over Police Response

Frustrated by what they describe as police inaction, the family staged a public protest and used local media channels to raise awareness of the case and appeal to higher authorities for intervention.

Saul Masih stated that police had failed to act professionally or seriously in pursuing the disappearance case.

He also alleged that an investigating officer at Saddar Police Station demanded and received Rs. 5,000 from the family in order to obtain CCTV footage connected to the investigation.

The family later approached DSP Dost Muhammad directly to report the lack of progress. According to the family, the District Police Officer instructed officers at Saddar Police Station to intensify efforts to recover Sunil Masih, but no breakthrough has yet been made.

Mother’s Emotional Appeal

Shabana Bibi has made an emotional appeal to Chief Minister of Punjab  Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Minister for Religious Affairs, Ramesh Singh Arora to intervene and ensure the authorities take urgent action to locate her missing son.

The family says they continue to live each day in fear and uncertainty, hoping for answers and praying for Sunil’s safe return.
