Christian leaders condemn decision of court on minor Christian girl marriage with Muslim

Pakistan Christian Awareness Movement Chairman Dr. Emanuel Adil Ghouri said that the Federal Constitutional Court has disappointed the 10 million minorities living in Pakistan by declaring the marriage of a young Christian girl, Maria Bibi, to a Muslim boy, Shahryar Ahmed, valid.
He said that in this case, there has been a clear violation of the Child Marriage Act, which is a crime against the state, which was neither made a part of the FIR nor was this point addressed from the magistrate's court to the Supreme Court.
He said that the remarks of the honorable justice in this case encourage the marriage of Christian girls with Muslims, which will promote this trend in the coming times. He demanded from Christian legal organizations to file a review petition in the full bench to cancel the said decision.
