Lahore: Rwadari Tehreek Pakistan, organize the Annual Interfaith Iftar (breaking of the fast) on March 6, 2026 at the premises of National Council of Church LAHORE to share the blessings of Lent Season and Ramadan. The Interfaith Iftar was attended by scores of men and women from different faiths, religions and walks of life to express togetherness and unity against the culture of hatred, intolerance and extremism prevailing in the society.
Prominent social, religious and political leaders attended the Iftar get-together including Mr. Ejaz Alam Augusine MPA, formber Minister on Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Punjab, Rev. Fr. Pascal Palous OP (Head of the Dominican Orders in Pakistan), Rev. Amjad Niamat (Chairman Interfaith Commission, Presbyterian Church of Pakistan), Allama Dr. Badar Munir (Muslim Religious Scholar), Allama Syed Mehmood Ghaznavi (Islamic Religious Scholar), Mr. Sajid Christopher (President Human Friends Organization), Ms. Kathrine Sapna Karamat (Executive Director Christians’ True Spirt) and Saeeda Diep (Chairperson, Institute for Peace & Secular Studies).
Rwadari Tehreek organizes similar get-togethers every year to bridge gap between different religions and faiths to express people’s unity against those spreading hatred, extremist thoughts and killing people in the name of religion. Speaking to the participants of Interfaith Iftar Get-together Mr. Samson Salamat, Chairman Rwadari Tehreek said that “Rwadari Tehreek is a bridge between the people of different faiths, religions, ethnicity and cultures and we want people to sit-together to decrease different misconceptions about each other and enhance understanding and the spirit of mutual respect”.
Mr. Samson Salamat read the following appeal for worldwide peace at this occasion:
We, Rwadari Tehreek Pakistan, stand in solidarity with the victims of war and conflict around the world, especially in the Middle East where we are witnessing heavy war.
We urge world leaders to prioritize compassion and humanity in these devastating times. The ongoing conflicts in various regions are causing immense suffering, loss of life, and environmental damage, leaving deep scars on individuals, families, and communities.
We appeal to leaders to choose dialogue, peace, and justice over destruction and violence. It's time to silence the guns and lift the voices of the oppressed. Let's protect human life, safeguard our planet, and build a world where diversity and coexistence thrive.
We believe that peace is not a weakness, but a responsibility of leadership. We also believe that war is not a solution but a problem itself. Therefore, we call on global leaders especially to UN Secretary General Mr. António Guterres, Holy Father Pope LEO XIV, and other influential voices to play their role in ending wars.
