LARKANA/KARACHI: Residents of the Christian Colony in Larkana staged a strong protest by blocking the main road, alleging harassment, threats, and violence by influential individuals.

Residents demand protection, action against threats, intimidation, and alleged attempted eviction

Protesters including Kamla, Sheila Bhatti, Shakeel, Shaukat, and others — claimed that a land deal involving money exchange had taken place a few months ago. They said that taking advantage of their simplicity, an agreement was secured from them, and now a man named Saleem Chaki is allegedly claiming ownership of their house.

The protesters further alleged that Saleem Chaki has been issuing threats, and that late at night, he and his associates reportedly resorted to aerial firing and violence against their children.

They appealed to the Sindh government and senior police officials to take strict action against the influential accused, deploy police force in the area, and provide protection from alleged eviction and violence.
