Faisalabad, Pakistan: A 15-year-old Christian girl, Sineha, has been abducted by a Muslim man named Mujahid in a disturbing case of suspected forced conversion and marriage. The incident took place on February 7, 2025, in the People Colony area of Faisalabad.

Sineha, a member of the Christian community, was forcibly taken by Mujahid, with reports indicating that the abduction is linked to his intentions of coercing her into converting to Islam and marrying him. Her mother, Abida Nasreen, wife of Ashir Masih, swiftly registered a case at the local police station, accusing Mujahid of abduction under Section 365B of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Despite the registration of the FIR, local police have not yet been able to locate Sineha or apprehend the alleged abductor. This has raised concerns over the safety of Christian women and girls, who are often vulnerable to such acts of violence and exploitation.

Farzana Imran, leader of LEAD Ministries Pakistan, has strongly condemned the abduction, emphasizing the severity of forced conversions and marriages in the country. "This tragic incident is not an isolated case. It shines a spotlight on the ongoing issue of underage Christian girls being abducted, forcibly converted, and married off," she stated. "We demand accountability for those responsible for this horrific act and call for the immediate recovery of Sineha so she can be reunited with her family."

LEAD Ministries Pakistan, an organization advocating for the rights of Christians, has been working to raise awareness of these abuses. They have consistently called for stronger protections against forced conversions to Islam, especially among vulnerable Christian women and girls.

Imran further emphasized, "The forced conversion of minors and subsequent marriages are a grave violation of human rights and the law. Such actions must not be tolerated in Pakistan. The authorities need to take immediate action to ensure the safety of young girls like Sineha and hold the perpetrators accountable."

This latest case adds to the growing concern over the exploitation of religious minorities in Pakistan, particularly women and girls who face the risk of being coerced into forced conversions and marriages.

Human rights organizations, including LEAD Ministries, are urging the Pakistani government to implement stronger safeguards to prevent such abuses from happening in the future and to ensure justice for victims of forced conversion and marriage. As the search for Sineha continues, there is hope that the authorities will act swiftly to recover the young girl and provide her and her family the protection they desperately need.
