LONDON, June 13 (APP): A British member of Parliament Lyne Brown has underscored the importance of addressing the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the peace dialogue between Pakistan and India could become positive only by engaging authentic Kashmiri voices. The member of the House of Commons for West Ham, East London, made the remarks during her meeting with Prof. Nazir Ahmad Shawl, Executive Director, Justice Foundation Kashmir Centre, who briefed her about Indo-Pak dialogue, human rights concern in the Indian Occupied Kashmir, the issue of the discovery of massed graves and the upcoming 4th International Peace Conference on Kashmir. Ms. Brown welcomed the initiation of Indo-Pakistan dialogue and said all those interested in the regional peace in South Asia have appreciated this. “This dialogue could become a real positive engagement and address the aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir by including the authentic Kashmiri voices in it,” she said. The MP promised to take up the issue of mass graves and human rights situation in the State with Foreign Secretary David Miliband. She accepted the invitation to participate in conference titled “Visions of Peace” and would be chairing one of the sessions.
