Rawalpindi, Pakistan: (MM News) After Good Friday in Rawalpindi, the church was set on fire by unknown persons at 3 o’clock on the night of March 30. Pastor-in-charge Adeem Alfons said that the incident in Gujar Khan is that the church is facing challenges due to the under-construction plaza next to the church. The church had blocked the road for security reasons, causing tension with the owner of the plaza. Police intervened to resolve the conflict.
At around 3 am, unknown persons set the church on fire after which the police and fire department were called. The church and its contents were completely destroyed in the incident, the incident is currently under investigation by the authorities and no formal complaint (FIR) has been registered yet.
It should be noted that Pastor Adeem Alfons is currently busy translating the Bible into different languages and is also translating into the Pothohari language spoken in Gujjar Khan, due to which he is also facing opposition from some people.
It should be remembered that the Christian Easter is celebrated on Sunday, while Christians celebrate Good Friday on Friday and a sad incident happened in Rawalpindi on the same night.
