ISLAMABAD: February 2, 2008. To mark the "Aitzaz Ahsan Day" as decided by the civil society organizations the other day the Convener World Minorities Alliance J.Salik took out a rally in the heart of the capital today.
The participants of the rally including women and children especially those from the suppressed classes of the society were holding placards, banners and posters of the deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan, chanted slogans in support of the lawyers community and against the dictatorship.
Addressing on this occasion J.Salik lamented the way the government treated judges of the superior judiciary especially the deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
He said the events especially the manhandling of the deposed CJP by the police and his continued house-arrest have brought utter disgrace and insult to the Pakistani nation, and that it is high time for Pervez Musharraf to resign immediately and let the chosen people of the masses to lead the nation.
