Hyderabad Bishop’s Advisor booked in Fraud Case

Karachi: The Diocese of Hyderabad, Church of Pakistan is facing an embarrassing situation, as the Advisor of its Bishop Imran Joseph Gill, who is the right hand of Bishop Kaleem John and also serving as Property Manager in the Diocese has been booked in a Fraud case and Karachi Police is conducting raids for his arrest.

On 25th March 2021 a Complaint had been filed at Artillery Maidan Police Station, Karachi South by Zeeshan Ejaz, who is the son of former Anglican Bishop of Karachi Diocese, against some unknown persons reporting fraud, cheating and impersonation, as 6 letters have been booked through local courier company purportedly booked in the name the Complainant, however, the Complainant state that he have not booked any letter and some unknown persons have booked the said letters to harm his reputation.

On the Complaint, local Police initiated inquiry and during the inquiry through CCTV footage and other evidence collected by the Police, Imran Joseph Gill found out to be the person booking the said letter. Later on 17th April, 2021, the Police registered FIR at Artillery Maidan Police Station, Karachi South under penal sections 419/420/469/34 PPC against Imran Joseph Gill and other unknown persons. Yesterday, on 21st April 2021, police conducted raids at Holy Trinity Church office, Karachi where from Imran Joseph Gill and Bishop Kaleem John, who is presently officiating Commissary Bishop for Karachi Diocese. The Investigating Police apprehends direct involvement of Bishop Kaleem John as well as other responsible functionaries of the Church of Pakistan in the case.
