Human Rights Fraternity lost its Guardian- IA Rehman: Rwadari Tehreek Pakistan

Lahore: On behalf of all the members of Rwadari Tehreek Pakistan, I would like to express condolences to all the human rights fraternity as we lost our guardian in human rights struggle Mr. I.A Rehman who breathed his last on Monday, April 12, 2021.

Former Secretary-General of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan and an Iconic Human Rights Champion, writer, and journalist was born in September 1930 in Haryana-India. Apart from working with different newspapers in his career and publishing of hundreds of articles and papers locally and Internationally, Mr. I A Rehman was the author of three books: Jinnah as a Parliamentarian (co-editor), Arts and Crafts of Pakistan and Pakistan under Siege, a collection of his own columns.  

Chairman Rwadari Tehreek Mr. Samson Salamat in his statement has expressed condolences with the family of Mr. IA Rehman ad the human rights fraternity. While paying tribute to Mr. IA Rehman, Chairman Rwadari Tehreek has said that “we have lost our guardian whose words and actions for the advancement of human rights and civil liberties have always been a source of inspiration and courage.

Mr. IA Rehman was a mentor, guide, and a fatherly character for countless human rights defenders in Pakistan and around the world and there is no doubt that Mr. IA Rehman will always live in the hearts of the marginalized people and communities who lost the most powerful advocate of their rights” Mr. Samson Salamat added.       

May the Great soul of Mr. IA Rehman Rest in eternal Peace.
