ICV to celebrate National Minority Day on August 11, via Zoom due to COVID-19

Toronto: The International Christian Voice ICV in a press release have announced that August 11th is a very significant day in the history of Pakistan. On this date in 1947, Pakistan’s founding father, Quaid -E-Azim Mohammed Ali Jinnah, in his speech to the first constituent Assembly of Pakistan, laid down the foundation of a modern, tolerant and progressive Pakistan in which every citizen would have equal rights, regardless cast, color, gender and creed.

In 2009, due to the untiring efforts of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti, this day was officially recognized by Pakistan’s Government as National Minority Day.

Every year on this day, we recognize and honour the sacrifices of religious minorities in the creation, development, and prosperity of Pakistan.

Due to COVID-19, this year's International Christian Voice’s annual Minority Day celebration will take place via ZOOM on Tuesday, August 11th at 7:00 p.m.

ICV have urged “We would like to invite you to join us on Zoom to take part in this celebration in which we will highlight the contributions and sacrifices of religious minorities in the creation, development, and prosperity of our motherland, Pakistan”

His Worship Patrick Brown, Mayor of Brampton, and other government officials and dignitaries will be participating.
