Gujranwala: August 16, 2007. Hundreds of Christians gathered outside Civil Hospital Gujarnawala and demand their protection, following an attack on a Christian wedding ceremony.
According to the Tariq Masih, resident of Qila Sunder, Gujarnawala, the group of Muslims entered by force in wedding ceremony of niece of Inayat Bhatti and demands to dance with Christian girls. They were drunk and started sexually assault and battery with Christian girls. Some Christian elders interfered on which Muslim gang group boys left threatening of dire consequences.
Next day, the Muslim gangsters attacked on Christians with axes, knives and sticks and killed Inayat Mashi.. Other 20 were injured including 3 children and 2 girls. Two young Christians are in critical condition.
Commenting on this sad incident, PCC leader Watson Gill said, "Christian are the orphan in Pakistan, while their so called leaders are selling tears and voice of million of Christian in National and Provincial Assemblies"
Watson Gill assured the victims that Pakistani Christian community from Holland, Germany, Belgium, England and France duly share their grief and condemn this cowardly act.
