Religious Leaders of different Churches observe “Black Day” as a “Day of Prayer” for Kashmiri Brethren

Lahore: August 16, 2019. (PCP) August 15th, the whole Pakistani nation is observing this day as “Black Day”. Religious Leaders from different recognized Churches in Pakistan came together under the umbrella of Ecumenical Solidarity Committee Lahore to organize a day of Prayer for Muslim Brethren of Kashmir.  Religious Leaders from the Catholic, Church of Pakistan (Raiwind & Lahore Dioceses) Presbyterian Church and the Salvation Army participated in this prayer service.  This prayer service was led by Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap, Rev. Shahid Mehraj and Rev. Emmanuel Khokher, whereas   religious leaders namely Rev. Saleem Khokher, Elder Javed Hakim, Rev. Samuel Nawab, Rev. Christopher Edger, Rev. Ayaz Gill, Fr. Qaiser Feroz, Fr. Ashfaq Anthony, Fr. Fiaz Rafiq, Fr. Atif Alphons, Fr. Sunil Irfan

Sabir and Major Saleem Yousaf were present. The Religious leaders showed their determination to support the Kashmiri Brethren in their Freedom movement, as their ancestors played a vital role in the Independence movement of Pakistan.

They prayed for Peace and Harmony between Pakistan and India and insisted to resolve the issue through Peace Dialogue. At the end all leaders released Doves in the air with a hope that this message of Peace would be carried to the Indo-Pak Borders and Peace may prevail.
