HYDERABAD: June 27, 2019. (By Abbas Kassar) National Lobbing Delegation fo Minority rights has demanded implementation of decision of supreme court given on 19 June 2014 by then chief justice Tasadaq Hussain Jeelani (5 years back).
Addressing news conference a press club here Monday group members M. Parkash Mahtani, Dr. Sabir Michel, Kirshan Sharma, Pirbhu Seetani, Jay Parkash Moorani, Dr. Ashothama and Ms. Pushpa Kumari said that SC decision concerned protection of minority places of worship through forming task force, 5% quota in government jobs for minorities, to form minority rights commissions in all provinces, minority family laws and striking down hate matter from syllabus of textbooks.
They said that only notification was issued but never implementation. They said Sindh assembly has passed Hindu Marriage Bill but rules are still awaited. They said not only Sindh but no province has implemented any law about marriages. They expressed doubt perhaps rulers might have same attitude with minorities. They made appeal to federal and provincial governments to implement minority rights laws as also whatever they have inscribed in their party manifesto.
